22 March 2017:   It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of Charles “Chuck” Johnston at home in Brighton Ontario at the age of 68 on the 22 March 2017.  At the request of the family no service will be held. Our condolences to Chuck’s wife Wendy and their family.

16 May 2017:  CELEBRATION OF LIFE, RETIRED FLIGHT ENGINEER BEN FRANCESCONE
Any of our members who may have served/ flown with Ben Francescone, there will be a Celebration of Life for Ben on the June 11, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm at 18092 Telephone Rd, Trenton ON K8V 5P4. Lets have a good turn out for Ben and his family.

15 June 2017:    It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of Gerry Ennis of Edmonton at the age of 80. Out thoughts and prayers go to his wife Marjorie and their family at this time. In keeping with Gerry’s wishes there will be no formal funeral service.

 It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of Carl Stanly Ryan peacefully with his family at his side on the 06 July 2017. Carl was a long serving flight engineer in the Maritime Patrol world on the east coast. Our deepest sympathy to his wife Hazel and their family.

07 July 2017:    BRUNTON, Glenn Harold (Suds)-July 21, 1927 – July 7, 2017

Passed away peacefully at the Hastings Manor Nursing Home, Belleville on Friday July 7th, 2017 in his 90th year.

Son of the late Harold & Mabel Brunton. Best Friend and companion of Margaret Wadsworth. Father of Lara Brunton-Fitzgerald (Fabian). Grandfather to Glenn and Jessica. He is survived by his siblings; Jack Brunton (Nancy), Barbara Greenly, Wanda Tweedie, Robert Brunton, Ray Brunton (late Joan), Gary Brunton (Carole), Arthur Brunton (Evelyn) and Wayne Brunton (Denise). Predeceased by his sister Phyllis Huble-Wilkinson. He will also be fondly remembered by Michael, Sylvie, Alisa Vieau and the little guy Mason Vieau .

Glenn was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, 413 Wing Association, Masonic Lodge, Halifax Restoration Team and the Airforce Museum for 10 years. He was in the Merchant Navy during World War II, he joined the Air Force afterwards and worked as a mechanic and then Flight Engineer. He followed that by working for the Department of Transportation in Ottawa. Before retiring Glenn flew commercially for WorldWays.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to QUINTE CREMATION & BURIAL SERVICES LTD. 205 N. Front St. Belleville (613-962-7900).

If desired, memorial donations to Sick Kids Foundation, Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.) or charity of choice are appreciated.

21 July 2017:  It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of Fred Illingworth CWO (RET’D).

Frederick Thomas Illingworth, age 79 of Halifax, passed away July 21, 2017 in Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Guelph, Ont., in 1938, joined the RCN in Cornwallis in 1956 and retired as CWO Airborne Electronic Sensor Operator in 1992. Served at Shearwater 881 and 880 Squadrons, CFANS Winnipeg, Summerside 415 Squadron and Greenwood 405 and 404 Squadrons. Had the privilege of serving as Base Chief Warrant Officer 14 Wing Greenwood from 1982 to 1987. In 1986 served as the Executive Director of the Greenwood Military Family Resource Centre until his retirement in 2002. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey, Petawawa, Ont.; Richard, Airdrie, Alta.; David, Hampton, N.B.; and Steven, Banff Alta.; daughter, Heather, Petawawa Ont.; their mother and friend, Jean Illingworth, Coldbrook, and granddaughters, Charley, Jamey, Sydney, Micaleigh, and grandson, Tristian; and sister, Barbara Thompson of Durham, Ont. Sincere thanks to the entire Oncology Team at QEII Health Sciences Centre for their kindness and compassion and to Dr. Lori Wood and Dr. Robyn Macfarlane. A special thank you to Marty Gordon and Natalie and Steve Sampson for all of their assistance during a very trying time. Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be arranged at a later date. 07 September 2017:  It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of David William McBride.


David McBride, of Saskatoon, passed suddenly after a long illness on
Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at the age of 81 at the Royal University
Hospital. Preceded in death by his wife Patricia, father Norman, mother
Grace, sisters Muriel and Shirley, brother Norman and nephew Duane Munro.
Survived by his son Norman (Cheryl) of Yellowknife and grandchildren Jenna
(Jared), Julie (Todd, Mason) and Katie (Matt); his daughter Deborah (Todd)
of San Diego and grandchildren Pamela and Ethan; niece Bernadette Feairs and
daughter Hannah; and nephew Rob and Kathie Cleveland and children Jamie and
Zane; and niece Jackie Braun (Ralph) and children Justin and Eric. David was
born in rural Saskatchewan in 1935. He joined the military at 18 and served
25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force, achieving the rank of Warrant
Officer before retiring. During his military career he travelled all over
the world with UN Peace Keeping Missions (Congo, Europe, India, Cyprus) as
an Aircraft Engineer and performed Search and Rescue missions. He was also
proud of his work with The Snow Birds. After the military, he joined
Northwest Territorial Airlines as the Chief of Maintenance. David loved
working with aircraft and often told stories about the planes and the
camaraderie of the mechanics.
After working for another 15 years, David retired in 1994 to Saskatoon with
his wife and his constant companion, Squiggs. David enjoyed keeping up on
current events and meeting with his friends and neighbors. He could be found
many mornings sharing a coffee and some conversation with his group of
friends. His relationships with his neighbors were also a source of joy and
comfort for him. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 25
years.
Funeral Details
Visitation will take place Wednesday, September 13th at 7 p.m. The Funeral
Service will be held on Thursday, September 14th at 1:00 p.m. Both services
from Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 4th Avenue North). Interment to take place
at Woodlawn Cemetery. Condolences may be left at

15 October 2017: It is with great sadness the we announce the passing of Warrant Officer (Retired) RL (Lou) Baxter passed away peacefully at Trenton Memorial Hospital this past Sunday – October 15th, 2017. Lou was a long time Flight Engineer who served in Greenwood and Trenton flying on the Argus, Boeing 707 and The Hercules. 29 October 2017:  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing Horace Thomas Hullin

Tom joined the military in March 1953 and retired as Master Warrant Officer in 1986 in Ottawa. Throughout his career Tom served with 4 OTTU in Trenton, 436 Sqn in Ottawa as well as serving in Naples, Italy, El Arish, Egypt, Marville, France, Lahr, Germany and Petersen Field, Colorado Springs. His flying tours included CC119 BoxCar, out of Trenton and DC3 Dakota out of Colorado Springs.

Proud and cherished grandfather to Victoria, Adam, Hope, Julia, Sophia and great-grandfather to Dawson. Friends are invited to assemble on Saturday November 4th in the Hall of Colours of Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway) after 2 p.m. Graveside Service with Military Honours will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces followed by a reception. In memoriam donations to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute appreciated.

10 December 2017:  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Edward “Bill” Fell.
FELL, William Edward “Bill” –  R.C.A.F. Flight Engineer, retired Passed away peacefully, at Belmont Longterm Care in Belleville, with his family present, on Sunday December 10th, 2015 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of Madylon May (Danny) Fell (nee Daniher). Dear father of Ted Fell (Myrna) of Winnipeg, Bill Fell of B.C., Larry Fell of Belleville, Rebecca Wood (William) of Stirling, and Dan Fell (Angie) of Toronto. Loved by his grandchildren Loren, Bryndel, Joel, Andy, Dylan, and by his one great grandchild. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
